เมื่อวันที่ 5 พฤศจิกายน 2555 นายชาคร สุชีวะ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงลิสบอน พร้อมด้วยข้าราชการสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ เดินทางเยือนเมือง Peniche เพื่อเยี่ยมชมโรงงานผลิตปลากระป๋องของบริษัท European Seafood Investments Portugal (ESIP) ซึ่งผลิตปลากระป๋องภายใต้ตราสินค้าของ “MWBrands” ซึ่งเป็นบริษัทในเครือของบริษัท ไทยยูเนี่ยน โฟรเซ่น โปรดักส์ จำกัด (มหาชน) โดยมีนาย Rodrigo Luzio ผู้อำนวยการบริษัทฯ ให้การต้อนรับ บรรยายสรุปเกี่ยวกับกิจการของบริษัท ESIP และจัดให้คณะข้าราชการสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ เยี่ยมชมกระบวนการผลิตในโรงงานด้วย

บริษัท ESIP มีกิจการโรงงานผลิตปลาแม็คเคอร์เรลและปลาซาร์ดีนที่เมือง Peniche   ซึ่งอยู่ห่างจากกรุงลิสบอนทางตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือประมาณ 100 กิโลเมตร โดยส่งออกสินค้าปลากระป๋องหลากหลายตราสินค้าภายใต้ MWBrands ไปยังหลายประเทศในยุโรป อาทิ สหราชอาณาจักร ฝรั่งเศส เนเธอร์แลนด์ เป็นต้น

On 5 November 2012, H.E. Mr. Chakorn Suchiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Portugal, paid a visit to European Seafood Investments Portugal (ESIP) plant in Peniche. The company produces canned mackerel and sardine under MWBrand which is owned by the renowned Thai Union Frozen Public Company Limited (TUF).  At the site, Mr. Rodrigo Luzio , Director of ESIP, welcomed the Thai diplomats, gave a briefing on the overview of the company, and arranged to observe the production process in the plant.

ESIP owns a production plant of canned mackerel and sardine in Peniche, located 100 kilometers northwest of Lisbon. The company exports its product, under various brand of MWBrands, to several countries in Europe, for instance, United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands.
