On 5 February 2023, H.E. Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to Portugal, was handed over the duty as Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Lisbon Portugal (ACLP) from H.E. Mr. Paul Raymund R. Cortes, Ambassador of the Philippines to Portugal. Held at the Residence of the Ambassador of Thailand, the handover ceremony was witnessed by H.E. Mr. Rudy Alfonso, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia.

Following the ceremony, the ACLP also discussed the activities to be conducted in Portugal until June 2024.

The ACLP consists of three ASEAN countries namely Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand. The ACLP Chair is rotated among the three resident ASEAN ambassadors in Lisbon every six months.
