On 7 April 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon organized a ceremony to receive the Buddha statue "Phra Phuttha Sirindhorn Theprattan Mongkhon Phuwadon Santi" bestowed upon by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. H.E. Mrs. Kanokwan Pengsuwan, Ambassador of Thailand to Portugal presided over the ceremony which was attended by the Embassy’s officials.
"Phra Phuttha Sirindhorn Theprattan Mongkhon Phuwadon Santi" is a metal Buddha statue in the “Leela” (walking) posture with a total height of 20 inches and weight of 10 kilograms. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the consecration ceremony of the Buddha statues at the ordination hall of Wat Suthatthepwararam on 22 July 2023 and bestowed the Buddha statues upon Thai agencies nationwide and overseas with the intention of bringing auspiciousness, peace, and prosperity of the nation, religion, the Monarchy, including the Thais and everyone in the world.”
