Thai movie and culture in MOTELX 2022

The Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon supported the 2022 Lisbon International Horror Film Festival (MOTELX) held between 6-12 September 2022 at Sao Jorge Cinema.

Ambassador Krongkanit Rakcharoen expressed the Embassy’s pleasure to continue supporting the MOTELX in bringing Thai horror movies to the Portuguese audience.

This year the Committee selected “The MEDIUM”, a blockbuster directed by the famous Banjong Pisanthanakun, to join the screening of MOTELX for 2 rounds (8 Sep and 12 Sep). “The MEDIUM” was a success back in Thailand and many countries such as the republic of Korea and Japan. It received many positive comments for the plot, settings, and acting performance.

The Royal Thai Embassy took this opportunity to promote Thailand and her culture in all dimensions. Thai delicious finger food as well as innovative food and beverage products were available for tasting while information banners and brochures about Thailand tourist destination were exhibited for people’s interest. The audience of “The MEDIUM” and MOTELX enjoyed typical and lovely souvenirs from Phi Ta Kon Ghost Festival in Thailand as it was where the setting of the movie took place.
