Instructions for Travellers from Portugal who will travel to Thailand from 1 November 2021

Travellers from Portugal may enter Thailand without quarantine provided that they are fully vaccinated at least 14 days before travelling and have been in Portugal and/or the eligible area for at least 21 consecutive days.

**Eligible Countries/Territory: Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Laos, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mongolia, Myanmar, Netherlands, Nepal, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, UAE, UK, USA, Vietnam, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

***Exception: The “21 days” requirement does not apply to travellers who reside in Thailand and travel to eligible areas for a short-term visit, provided that they have not been outside of the areas before returning to Thailand.

Portuguese citizens and citizens of certain countries can enter Thailand without a visa and stay up to 30 days under the 30 day tourist visa exemption scheme.

Fully vaccinated travellers are those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 with a vaccine registered with the Food and Drug Administration of Thailand (FDA), or approved by World Health Organization (WHO) or Ministry of Public Health of Thailand no less than 14 days before departure. Travellers must show Certificate of Vaccination issued by a government authority or the EU.

AstraZeneca by Siam Bioscience (2 doses needed)

Janssen by Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc. (1 dose needed)
Pfizer-BioNTECH COVID-19 vaccine by Pfizer Inc. (2 doses needed)
Moderna by Modrena Inc. (2 doses needed)
COVILO by Sinopharm Co., Ltd. (2 doses needed)
Sputnik V by Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology (2 doses needed)

The vaccine certificate/card must be issued by a government authority either in digital or paper format (document issued by private entities will not be accepted). The vaccine certificate must contain travellers' personal details, including name and date of birth and vaccination information, including dates of vaccination (the last dose must be administered no less than 14 days before travelling), name and lot/batch number of the vaccine.)

- Combination of different vaccines is accepted provided that the period between the 1st and 2nd dose was in accordance with the period set by the manufacture of the first dose.

- Unvaccinated children under 12 travelling with vaccinated parents from eligible countries may enter the QUARANTINE EXEMPTION (TEST & GO) scheme.

- Unvaccinated children under 18 travelling with vaccinated parents may enter the SANDBOX scheme.

- Travellers who have recovered from infection are eligible
if they have received one dose of vaccine within 3 months after infection, no less than 14 days before departure, and can provide a medical certificate confirming their infection.

Thailand Pass will open for registration on 1 November 2021 at 09.00 hrs. We recommend you to register with Thailand Pass a few days prior to your travel date.
For travellers who will travel to Thailand from 1 November 2021 onwards, please register with Thailand Pass platform through https://tp.consular.go.th

For travellers who have been granted COE and will arrive in Thailand from 1 November 2021 onwards, the COE remains valid for entering Thailand.

THAILAND PASS REGISTRATION (From 1 November 2021)
In addition to visa requirements / visa exemption scheme, all travellers to Thailand are requested to register with Thailand Pass through https://tp.consular.go.th

STEP 1 Please prepare the following documents:
1. Passport page
2. Thai visa /re-entry permit pages (if required)
3. Vaccine certificates
- For fully vaccinated Portuguese citizens and foreign residents in Portugal, please upload both the vaccine certificate and Boletim de Vacinas Please go to the SNS24 link https://www.sns24.gov.pt/.../aceder-ao-boletim-de.../ and download the Boletim de Vacinas.
- For other fully vaccinated travellers, please upload the vaccine certificate and proof of the first vaccination, which could be the appointment card or the certificate issued by the local health authority showing the details of the first doses (or both) of vaccination.
- For travellers who have recovered from infection, please upload the vaccine certificate confirming the vaccine taken within 3 months after infection and the medical certificate confirming the infection.
4. Health insurance which covers treatment and medical expenses in relation to COVID-19, with a minimum coverage of 50,000 USD throughout the period of your stay in Thailand. For health insurance purchase, please visit https://covid19.tgia.org/
5. Hotel booking confirmation. For AQ /SHA+ hotel reservation, please visit http://entrythailand.go.th/ and https://asq.locanation.com/ and https://www.agoda.com/quarantineth
- For fully vaccinated travellers, please make one night reservation at an Alternative Quarantine (AQ) or SHA+ hotel.
- For fully vaccinated travellers joining the sandbox programme, please make 7 nights reservation at SHA+ hotel in Sandbox area. (8 nights if arriving after 18.00 hrs.).
- For non-fully vaccinated travellers, please make 10 nights reservation at an Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotel (11 nights if arriving after 18.00 hrs.).

STEP 2 Register with Thailand Pass through https://tp.consular.go.th at least 7 days before your travel
1. Fill in your details (including the immigration forms) and upload the required documents as mentioned in STEP 1.
2. Wait for the pre-approval of your vaccine certificates.
3. Obtain the Thailand Pass QR Code for travelling to Thailand.

STEP 3 Have a pre-departure COVID-19 RT-PCR test with a negative result within 72 hours before departure.

STEP 4 Travel to Thailand
1. Upon arrival in Thailand, the Thailand Pass QR and RT-PCR test report must be presented to the health control checkpoint before going through immigration and customs process.
2. Undergo post-arrival RT-PCR test at the airport or hotel.

STEP 5 You are subject to one of the following:
1. Proceed to your AQ or SHA+ hotel and stay one night until receiving a negative RT-PCR test result in case of Quarantine Exemption (QE).
2. Proceed to your SHA+ hotel in case of Sandbox Programme.
3. Undergo 10 day quarantine at your AQ hotel in case of Alternative Quarantine (AQ).
